You have lab work issues such as high blood sugar, high cholesterol, high CRP, high Homocysteine, elevated liver enzymes, abnormal thyroid tests, etc., yet you feel fine.
One of the gifts of traditional western medicine is the availability of diagnostic procedures and laboratory tests to give us an assessment of what is happening in our bodies. We strongly believe in using these diagnostic tools, as many of these leading indicators point toward significant future disease if not addressed. Often lab results will become abnormal, before we feel any changes in our body. For example, a person rarely feels differently when there cholesterol rises, or there bloods sugar begins to approach pre-diabetic levels. Also, elevated liver enzymes, low blood proteins, high CRP and high homocysteine are often not associated with commonly recognized symptoms.
Often, because people feel fine they are surprised or even shocked when they receive news that one or more of these indicators are elevated. Unfortunately these abnormal lab results, left unaddressed, are likely to worsen over time, and develop into disease. It’s what we refer to as the myth of all of a sudden. In other words, we don’t suddenly have a heart attack or suddenly develop diabetes, or most other disease for that matter. Almost nothing in medicine happens suddenly. Often even before we feel any discernable changes in our bodies, there are processes underway leading to disease.
Tests like these are not always routinely ordered due to their expense. Often the first step in working with clients that fall into this category is making sure that all the appropriate lab tests have been completed. Also, there are no traditional medical treatments for some of the issues mentioned above. And those that do have traditional treatments often come with significant risks and unwanted side effects.
The good news is there are sound nutritional therapies and approaches to address all of these indicators. We work with clients to make sure that important indices are being monitored regularly. When abnormalities do occur, often the safest and most effective way to address these problems is through nutritional therapies, including adopting an anti-inflammatory diet, and usually requiring the use of specific nutritional supplements. At times, of course, traditional medical treatment is needed and appropriate. But unfortunately, in our opinion, drugs are often used too quickly when these safer approaches can be effective. In some cases, we’ve found that nutritional therapies used in conjunction with traditional medical treatment can be the most effective approach for some people. Lastly, because knowing what to do is often not enough, we can help you understand your own personal change process, and then successfully coach you through that process. In fact, our work with clients over the years has led us to recognize that a coaching structure is the most effective way to achieve lasting results, i.e., to change fundamental eating and lifestyle habits.

"I feel really fortunate to have been referred to you. I consider you more than a nutritionist. Your knowledge of traditional medicine and medications has been instrumental in helping me not only regulate my thyroid, but also to accurately test for the candida, which I no longer have, after having it for so long. You’ve been able to give me the right program and supplements to help keep me healthy and candida free.
I really value your professional manner, and at the same time, I feel your caring and warmth as a person, is what makes the whole process really ideal for me."

"I have made significant changes in my eating habits along the lines of what you suggested. Specifically, I have greatly increased the amount of protein and greatly decreased the amount of carbohydrates I ingest. I addition, I am taking the supplements you recommended.
As you recall, my primary goal was to reduce the level of inflammation I had been experiencing. I am happy to say this has happened to a great level.
A couple of days ago, I reviewed the results of some lab work with my physician. I was happy to find out that my cholesterol, had gone from 202 to 162 and the my "risk of heart attack index" had gone from "high risk" to "below average risk". In addition, a lot of other important health indicators (blood pressure, pulse, triglycerides, glucose, etc.) were in excellent shape.
Your counsel was instrumental in helping me make these life-enhancing changes. I am happy to highly recommend your work to others"
